After my magic sentence uttered and eyes contact done, I just won my case ^_^.

What I Learn Today

Actually nothing.
But it seems not good. So I will mention that I just learn (know) 'BORNE' is the past tense of 'BEAR'. Other words : gratuity, contractual, AGM, ex-gratia, expatriate, exemption, IR8A, IR8S, Benefits-in-kinds, ESOP, ESOW. One interesting thing to highlight is about benefits-in-kinds. Swimming pool, organ, gardener are also included. Quite funny! My day is quite boring for only reading and reading this book. It's not thick. But full of many unknown (for me) words. Actually I can finish it in 2 or 3 hours if I'm on bed with sleeping position. I don't like reading while sitting. But now, I am given 2 days already only to read 60-80 pages.
I miss exams. I used to read the textbooks while others don't simply because I'm not confident enough to rely on the notes. Also, I believe in 'the longer you write, the better it will be'. So I become a writer with a long writing. Yet, deep inside my heart, I know that principle isn't suitable with some cases. My boss said : "Are you good in writing an essay?" after reading all my codes. My habit is still inside me. This time it is a bad one!
I also miss me being nervous when I have to see the results on the web. I miss school very very much. Of all, don't worry. I miss you still the most.

Why do You Work?

ya On Friday :

W : "Finally it's Friday already. Tired!"

E : "Tired of what?"

W : "Tired of working lahh.. Stupid question!"

E : "Don't work. So you won't feel tired haha!"

W : "Not working, where does your money come from?"

E : "So you work only for money?"

W : "Of course lah. Everyone works for money. If not, why wants to work? So tired."

E : "No, I'm not."

H : "M, do you believe that?"

M : "Haha. Not at all of course."

H : "So why do you work?"

E : "For society........ and to train M to be a good developer"

M - H : (MWAHAHAHA)

E : "Actually, M, you need to work for the passion of the work itself. Learn and learn. So many things you can learn from working environment. I'm not talking only about the programming skills. After you learn much enough, then you talk about money. If you are like W already, you have a family to feed, it is a different issue. But now, you are still very very young .. bla bla bla."

M : "Hmm hmm hmm."

E : "Wahhh.. almost lunch time. I am excited! Buffet. Buffet."

H : "See. It's his passion -.-'."

People work for different reasons. Some for money only. Some for experience only. Some for spending their time. They just have too much time to spend. Hahaha. Some for society? Some people like to serve others. Some for mixed reasons. And me is just one of them (except for society hahaha! I'm not that good yet). Some people are willing to work in a company with low pay but get many experiences. Some are catching the vice versa. Of course, it's best if we can get both. I am hoping I can get the maximum in the two sides so my time is not wasted, but worth spent. Cannot say it for sure at the moment. In the future, we'll just see. Honestly, although there are also fun and laughters, working is indeed tiring. Hahahahah! I prefer sleep of course. It's a good advice though. I need a passion of working. One way to begin is to love Monday more and more :). Tomorrow is coming, tomorrow is coming!

In the afternoon :

E : "So, L has confirmed to the HR department. No choice. You must take no pay leave."

M : "Ohhh. Then?"

E : "Huh? What then? Your salary will be deducted lah. I cannot do anything. It's company's policy."

M : "Ohhh." (Continue to work)

E : "Eh, one day deduction is very much eh. I know the formula."

J : "Heh? I wonder why you can be so cool."

E : "Next time, you must take MC."

I am lazy to debate again with them after my argue in the morning. What else can I do? The policy is just too ridiculous. Sick people must visit the doctor. Otherwise they must take annual leave instead of sick leave. Don't they ever think sometimes when we are REALLY sick, we cannot even get up from the bed. Even when we are not REALLY sick, we are lazy to go to the doctor although we already know the company will pay us back, it's not the problem. The problem is... not all people like to visit doctor. They want to take a rest, at home, at home, at homeeee.

I think when I go back to Indo for graduation, they will also deduct my salary because I am not supposed to take annual leave yet. Whatever......

Suang le suang le lah!

Tomorrow there will be a buffet lunch in the office. Yuhu!!!

Must be Love!

At the end of one such meal we discussed, as we occasionally did, the difference in our ages. She asked, 'Do you think that because I'm older than you are time passed more quickly for me than it does for you?'

'Subjectively, perhaps', I replied.

'So does time seem to have speeded up for you too? Since you were a child, I mean.'

'It seems to have done, yes.'

'By how much?'

'Difficult to say.'

'Well, think back to how long a week seemed when you were nine years old. How many of today's weeks would it take to fill a week back then? I mean, think about the week leading up to Christmas...'

'Three or four, maybe. Easily.'

'When you first met me,' she went on, 'I think the weeks were passing about five times as fast as they used to when I was a child. Now they've slowed down again. People say that when you get really old, time races by, like those speeded-up films of the sun streaking accross the sky. Dawn to dusk in seconds.'

'I remember my grandfather telling me that time had accelerated so much for him that all he noticed was the changing seasons. He knew that time was getting on when he had to change into his winter underwear once more.'

'Why does it happen, do you think? Is it some kind of chemical change in your brain?'

'Locke believed that our train of thought moves at a constant speed, although Addison seemed to think that we could inflate our time by pumping it full of thoughts.'

'Or memories.'

'Yes, it must have something to do with memory. I mean, what else could give you your sense of how fast time passes? It's a backwards-looking thing, must be. What gives you the sense of how long a week lasts is how long you remember it lasting.'

'Which would partly depend on how much of it you noticed in the first place,' she added, 'because the less you noticed the less there would be to remember, and it would seem as though the time had been empty. Big chunks of time would become sort of ... invisible to you. It would feel shorter than a week where you noticed lots of things going on.'

'And a child notices everything, so when you're a child each week you look back on seems filled with incident and novelty, so a week feels like a really long time.'

'Which is why,' she said, triumphantly claiming my hand accross the tablecloth, 'time has slowed down again for me since you came into my life. My world is so full of new and wonderful things, I'm so much more aware of everything. When we first met I was sort of sleepwalking through life, but now I feel truly, fully conscious of every moment that passes.'

'Must be love.'

Some Conversations This Week

E : "Are you really Chinese?"
M : "Yes, of course. Why do you ask?"
E : "I see you're face and I think you are mixed."
M : "Mixed with what?"
E : "Turkish"
M : "Bah!"

When I first met one of my friends in the boarding house, at first she thought I am a Western-Chinese.
I remembered when I was at Senior High School, I was so busy walking from one friend's table to another's in the classroom and teacher suddenly screamed very loudly .. "Holland!!!!!!! Sit on your own chair!"
Ok. Anyway, I am a chinese though my eyes don't like those chinese people's.

Talking about eyes, there's a conversation like this :
X : (Looking deeply to my eyes) "Heh .. your eyes are so perfect. Do you use glasses or not?"
M : "Huh? Actually not. Only when I'm in front of the computer, I use the against radiation glasses."
X : "Oh.. yes, your eyes are really nice."
M : "A few years later I think I will use glasses because everyday I must look at the computer for so many hours."
I know already my eyes are good. Why do people seldom mention it? Hahaha!

Give you another one :
G : "I think the people from your department are very shy. Blah blah ...
So although I am a GM, I am still like all of you.
M : "I know I know. You are also a human ... Blah blah."
G : "Yes... So next time when you are going for lunch and you see me, just ask me
     to join."
M : (Mind you, it's not easy to be my lunch date regardless you are a GM) "Yes, of course, will do!"

For this is a tiring week I haven't told all the stories about how hard this week is, actually I want to celebrate it by eating much food today but due to my sickness, I think I must postpone it.

Yesterday, on the bus on the way going home, I smell someone who has the similar smell like someone in the past
and it reminded me how much I miss the person T_T.

Time to go home!

Life Begins at Forty

(Jack Yellin / Ted Shapiro)
A Musical Monologue by Sophie Tucker

I've often heard it said and sung
That life is sweetest when you're young
And kids, sixteen to twenty-one
Think they're having all the fun
I disagree, I say it isn't so
And I'm one gal who ought to know
I started young and I'm still going strong
But I've learned as I've gone along.......

That life begins at forty
That's when love and living start to become a gentle art
A woman who's been careful finds that's when she's in her prime
And a good man when he's forty knows just how to take his time

Conservative or sporty, it's not until you're forty
That you learn the how and why and the what and when
In the twenties and the thirties you want your love in large amounts
But after you reach forty, it's the quality that counts

Yes, life begins at forty
And I've just begun to live all over again

You see the sweetest things in life grow sweeter as the years roll on
Like the music from a violin that has been well played upon
And the sweetest smoke is from a mellow, broken and old pipe
And the sweetest tasting peach is one that's mature, round and ripe

In the twenties and the thirties you're just an amateur
But after you reach forty, that's when you become a connoisseur
Then it isn't grab and get it and a straight line for the door
You're not hasty, you're tasty, you enjoy things so much more

For instance, a novice gulps his brandy down, he doesn't understand
Observe a connoisseur, the way he holds it in his hand
How he strokes the glass, fondles it, warms it as he should
Smaks his lips, aahhh, slowly sips, hah, boy, it tastes good

Life begins at forty
Then it isn't hit and run and you find much more fun
You romance a girl of twenty and it costs you all your dough
But when a forty thanks you, she hates to see you go

And girls of twenty, all they want are big men
Big men with strong physiques
I don't say that it's bad
But you do get tired of those damn Greeks

Life begins at forty
And I'm just living all over again

Four Moments in Life

These are four things I consider to be the most important moments in my life :
1. Birth - 22nd October 1986 - I believe it was a beautiful day in that year :) - An angel was really born hahahha!
2. Graduation - 4th February 2008 - the same day with Illona's birthday - To respect my team mates, will mention their names : Abang & Sianne
3. Marriage - Marital status is still single =)
4. Death - I am still alive!

In between them, I should mention:

1. First day of going to school - I don't remember anymore .. should be in 1992
2. First present - Can only recall about a radio given by sinterklaus (yet I knew
a few days later that actually my grandmother or grandfather who bought it for me)
3. Noticed that I have so many fans - 6th grade Primary School (I am not kidding hahaha!)
4. First time winning a competition - 6th grade primary school (can only remember
my friend, Hendra, to be one of the team, forgot another one T_T)
5. First time being asked to go out : 2nd grade Junior High School
6. First time got a scholarship : in 2004 - I even can remember the amount hahaha (Rp. 9.300.000)
7. First time going out - no publication about this
8. First day accepted to work - If I am not wrong it was on 12 or 13 March 2008 - Fullcast
9. First day of working - 14th April 2008 - CSPL
10. First month received my salary - on April (I'm lazy to open the payslip to know the exact date) - though the amount was kinda weird, I remember very well about the numbers haha.

And there are some more I mind to tell here : privacy matters :).

With my very much time to spend, I can only recall these things. I will add some more on the day I received a news that I am accepted a scholarship from Sweden =), the month my salary increased, the day I have a baby, etc etc hahaha! Anyway, graduation ceremony is on 2nd August 2008.

One very important thing I got for remembering all those things : I realize again that I am such a very blessed person in this world. I must have made a very good karma in my previous life =).

Have a nice day, ALL!
